Dr Markus Kittler works at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School in Innsbruck Austria where he is Professor and Academic Director of the Executive PhD programme. He is based at the Department of Management and Law and is also involved in other MCI degree programmes. Particular areas of interest are IHRM, International Management, Entrepreneurship and Research Methods. He previously taught at the University of Stirling where he was doctoral research coordinator for Management, Work and Organisation and the Director of the MRes and DBA programme. At Stirling he also won RATE Teaching Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2017. For his achievements in the UK higher education system Professor Kittler is accredited as Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. For his research on understanding misunderstanding in cross-cultural communication, Professor Kittler received a doctorate from the German Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nuremberg. His doctoral thesis was awarded with the AIB UKI Award for Best Innovative Research. He also acts as External Examiner for the Open University Validation Service and is currently Chair of the Strategic Interest Group International Management at the European Academy of Management.
