The City


Wiesbaden is the capital of the German state of Hesse and with around 283,000 inhabitants the second-largest Hessian city after Frankfurt am Main.
Oestrich-Winkel being situated 19 km southwest of Wiesbaden and 17 km west of Mainz and Wiesbaden are both located on the Rhine river and lie in the Rheingau wine-growing region, one of Germany's 13 wine regions.
Wiesbaden is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe with 15 mineral springs - 14 of which are hot springs - in the city center. Having a mild climate through its geographical position shielded by mountains it has been called the "Nice of the North".
Wiesbaden hosts a number of international companies, which have their German or European headquarters there.

The University


EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht is a private university specializing in the disciplines of business and law. The university is located in Wiesbaden and Oestrich-Winkel, Germany. EBS is considered to be one of the most prestigious institutions for law and business studies in the German-speaking world.
The university was founded in 1971 as European Business School, thereby making it the oldest private business school in Germany. Its activities focus on three main areas: undergraduate degree programs, postgraduate degree programs, and executive education. With the foundation of its law faculty in 2010, the former European Business School was awarded full university status in 2011.
EBS has numerous renowned and successful alumni among which the founders of the start-ups Vapiano and Lieferando and many CEOs of global leading companies.
EBS comprises three locations for teaching, research, and administrative purposes. EBS Law School is located at the newer Wiesbaden campus, whereas EBS Business School is situated at the larger Oestrich-Winkel campus at Reichartshausen Castle.
