The City
Tel Aviv, is the most populous city in the Gush Dan metropolitan area and the economic and technological center of the country.
Tel Aviv's White City, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003, comprises the world's largest concentration of International Style buildings, including Bauhaus and other related modernist architectural styles. Popular attractions include Jaffa Old City, Hayarkon Park, and the city's promenade and beach.
The University
Located in the heart of Israel's high-tech, business and culture center, Tel Aviv University (TAU) is Israel's largest and most diversified institution of higher learning, with nine faculties and over 30,000 students, 1,200 researchers and 125 schools and departments.
Tel Aviv University originated in 1956 when three education units merged to form the university. The original 170-acre campus was expanded and now makes up 220 acres in Tel Aviv's Ramat Aviv neighborhood.
