As a directly elected representative, he represents the constituency of Backnang-Schwäbisch Gmünd since 1998 in Berlin. In his capacity as Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, he has made a major contribution to the expansion of transport infrastructure and digitization in Germany.
Since March 2018, he has been working as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development - an important and diverse topic, which is particularly important in the face of global crises and continuing flight movements.
