Prof. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Johannes Siebert

Johannes U. Siebert is a professor of Decision Sciences, Behavioral Economics, and Supply Chain Management at MCI | THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SCHOOL® in Innsbruck, Austria. He earned his doctorate in multicriteria decision making and completed his habilitation in behavioral operations research and decision sciences at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. His research focuses on improving decision-making processes at the individual, organizational, and inter-organizational levels. He has published in top-tier journals such as Operations Research and European Journal of Operational Research. Johannes serves on the Executive Committee of the International Society on MCDM, the Coordinating Board of the European WG on Behavioral Operations Research, and the Editorial Board of the INFORMS journal Decision Analysis. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Council of the Alliance for Decision Education, working alongside prominent researchers such as the late Daniel Kahneman and Richard Thaler to advance decision education for adolescents worldwide. Johannes’s research aims to improve decision-making for individuals, organizations, and supply chains. He extends the concept of classical nudging with Ralph Keeney by empowering people to become their own “decision architects.” In his TEDx Talk, “Nudge yourself to make better decisions”, he presented these ideas to a broad audience. Johannes is a sought-after keynote and TEDx speaker, a regular guest contributor to Focus Online in Germany. He has secured more than one million euros in third-party funding and consulted public and private organizations in Europe and the United States on research-driven projects. Johannes has been a three-time finalist for the prestigious Practice Award of the Decision Analysis Society (INFORMS). For more information, visit his personal website at JohannesSiebert.com.
