SANTA CLARA, CA – June 5, 2018: Holo-Light is named 2018 Auggie Awards winner for Best Input & Output Hardware. The winners received the prestigious Auggie Awards at the Auggie Awards Ceremony on May 31, 2018. The ceremony was held as part of the ninth annual AWE (Augmented World Expo) USA 2018 – the world’s most important augmented and virtual reality conference and expo – in Silicon Valley.

Holo-Stylus, the Holo-Light input device for mixed or augmented and virtual realities, was developed in cooperation with the Entrepreneurial School®. Various media channels have already described Holo-Stylus as the new mouse for a new computing age. Holo-Stylus is not only compatible with all types of head-mounted displays, its advanced technology also enables the creation of and interaction with digital content down to the submillimeter range, thus achieving a unique level of precision. The mixed and augmented reality startup Holo-Light and its partner MCI are proud to be honored with this prestigious award.

The AWE Auggie Awards are presented annually and are among the most renowned AR and VR awards in the industry worldwide. Since 2010, the awards have been dedicated to research on new AR and VR technologies with the potential to change products, companies, and daily life.

“Winning an Auggie Award at the world’s largest and most important AR event is a special honor for us and our partners. We see this award not only as a great recognition for our excellent team, but also as an important seal of quality for our product,” says Florian Haspinger, CEO and co-founder of Holo-Light, after receiving the award.

Michael Kraxner, head of research, development and technology transfer at MCI, is delighted with this recognition: “As a practice-oriented university of applied sciences and with our technological development competence, we have found a perfect partner in Holo-Light. The joint development of Holo-Stylus marks only the beginning of our cooperation.”
