As they say, “end of season is beginning of season.” Even though last season was as successful none before, SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol Head Coach, Shuan Fatah, does not want to rest on his laurels; the preparations for the new season are already in full swing.

The first (re)commitment has been signed: David Oku has signed his contract for the 2019 season and will thus be able to continue working as running back coach. Oku joined the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol as a player in 2015. Innsbruck was his first stop outside the USA. After his first year in Tyrol, where he mainly made a name for himself in international games, he also played in China and in the GFL in Germany. In 2018, Shuan Fatah brought him back to Innsbruck, a place where David Oku obviously feels at home.

Last season the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol won the most important titles (CEFL, Superfinal and AFL) and David Oku was successful both as a coach and a player. Now that his contract has been renewed, he can continue his cooperation with Sandro Platzgummer, Tobias Bonatti and all the others.

David Oku’s latest appointment was made possible by MCI Management Center Innsbruck, an important partner of the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol. Oku qualified for the master’s degree program in International Business & Law, beginning in autumn 2018, and thus gained one of the most coveted scholarships.

“I feel very comfortable in Tyrol and I am happy that I can combine my studies with American Football. The cooperation between the SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol and MCI Management Center Innsbruck provides me with the ideal conditions to pursue both,” says David Oku, looking forward to the upcoming challenges.
