New Center for Robotics, Production and Automation: service and contact point for industry creates added value by providing a link between the worlds of business and science
The Tyrol group of the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV Tirol) and the Entrepreneurial School® (MCI) jointly launch a Center for Robotics, Production and Automation. The center will serve as a service and contact point for industrial companies and support them in the implementation of new technologies. The focus will be on technology-oriented innovations, especially in industrial robotics and automation. Topics to be addressed include safe human-robot collaborations, the Industrial Internet of Things, virtual reality solutions, state-of-the-art image processing systems and more. In addition, the center aims to cooperate with schools and training companies to motivate and encourage young talents to embark on technical careers. The center will be located on the MCI technology campus in Innsbruck.
The president of the Tyrol group of the Federation of Austrian Industries, Christoph Swarovski, emphasizes that domestic industrial companies have always stood out due to their high level of performance, efficiency and innovation. "The innovative service center will present new technologies and support companies in their practical implementation." MCI Rector Andreas Altmann points to the gains expected from the cooperation between industry and science: "As the Entrepreneurial School® we consider it one of our most important tasks to bring the worlds of business and science closer together. The center will not only provide sustainable benefits for students, but also – and above all – for local industry."
