South Tyrolean Economic Forum "In times of upheaval"

The 15th South Tyrolean Economic Forum recently took place with a particularly high-caliber program: Under the motto "In times of upheaval. Business and society in transition ", around 400 entrepreneurs and decision-makers met for an exchange of ideas and networking at this first-rate event. Following the welcoming address by the South Tyrolean governor Arno Kompatscher and the president of the South Tyrolean Sparkasse Gerhard Brandstätter, top-class, internationally-renowned lecturers drew a dramatic arc which spanned from economic framework conditions to innovation and innovative power to failure, which is inextricably linked with innovation and success.

• Carlo Cottarelli, economist and professor at the Universities of Bocconi and Cattolica and former Director of Fiscal Affairs at the IMF, dealt with the issue of public debt and its limitations when it becomes a risk for the entire economy.
• Thomas Middelhoff, former Chairman of the Board of Management of Bertelsmann and Arcandor, spoke on limits on an individual level: As a top manager, you walk an extremely fine line between success and justice, between heaven and hell, so to speak.
• Daria Illy, board member of Illycaffè and CEO of Mitaca, was connected via livestream. She talked about how family businesses can become, and remain internationally successful through constant innovation.
• Dumëne Comploi, a native of South Tyrol and creative designer and project leader at Walt Disney Imagineering, described how human fantasy and imagination can be combined with cutting-edge technology to create interactive experiences.
• Gerald Hörhan, start-up investor, author and CEO of the Investment Punk Academy polarized his statement "Lots of money or zero buck" and predicted a society at a crossroads.

The South Tyrolean Economic Forum has developed into the leading business conference and a high-ranking international meeting place in South Tyrol and is organized in partnership by the Business Association South Tyrol, the South Tyrolean Business Newspaper, the Business Bestseller publishing house, the South Tyrolean network abroad "Südstern" and the MCI.
