The season kicks off for SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol in Basketball’s League 2 I Center John Gardiner begins his studies at the Entrepreneurial School® I Exemplary cooperation between MCI and SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol
SWARCO RAIDERS basketball player John "Jonjon" Gardiner will be competing twice in the fall of 2019: The first home debut of the Raiders on Innsbruck soil will place on September 29. As a center, Gardiner is considered a vital playmaker for the Raiders, who made it into the Basketball League 2 owing much to his efforts last season. Only a few days later, the second important date takes place: The former professional from the West Indies in the Caribbean is drawn back to university. He originally studied criminal justice in Huntsville, Texas. Now he will undertake an MCI Master degree in "International Business & Law", starting on 3 October. This is made possible through the support of a scholarship that was awarded in the framework of the collaboration between SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol and MCI. "As an experienced basketball player, I'm still in great shape and can pass on much to my younger teammates, not least in my role as coach of the junior team," describes John Gardiner of his situation. "At the same time, I now have the opportunity to expand my professional background with an MCI degree program. It’s just perfect!" Program Director Ralf Geymayer is delighted to announce his new sporty entrant: "With his legal and international background, John Gardiner fits in perfectly with our Master program, which combines business, internationalization and digitization with business law." "The goal of our collaboration with MCI is to bring education and sports together while remaining true to the American model of college sports. What also connects us to the MCI is our professional, performance-oriented, and at the same time, passionate approach," emphasizes SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol Club Manager Claudia Nuener.
