MCI has responded to the lack of dual study programs internationally and especially in Tyrol by introducing the new dual study course ‘Smart Building Technologies’. This study program differs from extra-occupational courses of study by addressing school leavers directly after their graduation of secondary school and providing an integrative link between studies and profession. Several months of study at the university are followed by several months of experience in the field within innovative partner companies.

With the introduction of the dual Bachelor's program "Smart Building Technologies", MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® once again positions itself among the most innovative universities and colleges in the German-speaking area.

"The dual study program 'Smart Building Technologies' meets the latest needs in educational training", MCI Rector Andreas Altmann is convinced: "Companies all over the world have an urgent need for the qualifications imparted in the study program - now young people from all over the world and the economy in Tyrol and South Tyrol are benefiting from these skills".

Exciting future field

Head of department and studies Werner Stadlmayr emphasizes the importance of the new study program: "Smart Building Technologies is an outstanding addition to the study program at MCI. Students benefit from excellent career prospects and from the unique close links with corporate partners".

- At the heart of the program is the development, optimization and application of intelligent solutions for the future-oriented challenges of building services engineering, infrastructure, modern living, climate neutrality and ecological sustainability.

- Excellent career opportunities are offered in the growing future field of energy- and resource-saving construction with intelligent solutions in the areas of automation, information technology, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and sanitary engineering as well as the latest possibilities of modern lighting technology.

- The human and social dimension of living and working together as well as the increasingly important well-being in public and private building complexes and rooms is at the forefront of the above-mentioned thematic complexes.

Renowned partner companies

Seven companies from Tyrol and South Tyrol are involved in the start of the dual Bachelor's program by contributing their expertise in the development of the program, providing jobs and substantial financial contributions. The companies benefit greatly from the scientific know-how students can gather during their training and also apply directly in the practical phases.
