Despite the lockdown, MCI opened its virtual doors to the annual Recruiting Forum. For the past twelve years, the forum has been extremely successful to connect employers with students of the Entrepreneurial School®. "The MCI Recruiting Forum MCI aims to put students in touch with as many and diverse companies as possible so that they can gain insights into the working world and get to know potential employers for jobs and internships. This year we were once again able to successfully fulfill this mission - in a digital format," emphasizes MCI Rector Andreas Altmann.

An exciting mix of more than 70 companies and organizations from various industries participated in the Online Recruiting Forum via virtual booths. Students were able to connect with them, make valuable, digital contacts, find out which key skills future employees should bring with them and what the best way is, to start their careers. For the exhibiting organizations in turn, the Entrepreneurial School® offered an inviting platform to present themselves as attractive employers and to track down future talent.

Digital as an advantage

Due to the digital format this year, it was possible to integrate new features. For example, students could use the 'pre-opening' function to create a watch list of interesting companies and browse through internship- and job titles at their leisure from the moment they registered in order to prepare for virtual discussions. These took place exclusively in person via text or video chats to ensure the personal connection.

"The advantage for students was that they were able to "look inside" more than 70 companies and institutions from the comfort of their own homes or while on the road. They also had the opportunity to leave applications, exchange contacts or collect information about the company and its job offers virtually," explains Brigitte Huter, Head of the MCI Career Center.

Martina Senoner, Chairwoman of the MCI University Representation, appreciates the practical orientation of her university: "Especially in these times it is important for us students to network with employers. Despite the lockdown, the Online Recruiting Forum at the MCI gave us the opportunity to gain exciting insights into the working environment and make contacts by setting an important milestone in virtual networking".

"The digital form of the MCI Recruiting Forum gives us the opportunity to directly exchange information with potential applicants despite the special circumstances and also allows us to present ourselves virtually as an attractive, secure employer", says Mrs. Margreiter, Head of HR at Spiegltec GmbH enthusiastically.

The MCI Recruiting Forum 2020 is sponsored by Hofer KG, karriere.at and our numerous career partners. Media partners are the Tiroler Tageszeitung and Die Presse. Thank you very much.
