Center for Responsible Management & Social Impact' founded at MCI | UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) increasingly embedded in curricula and projects | Preparing students for challenges of the future
Universities play an important role in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century and contribute to the realization of societies' sustainability goals through research, knowledge transfer, dialogue and transfer.
At MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, the topics of sustainability, responsibility and ethics are pursued with a high level of commitment. The aim is to contribute to a both local and global level to overcome the many challenges of our time, such as climate change, environmental protection, social injustice, etc. This requires new thinking of economic, social as well as technological theories, models and practices.
NEW: MCI Center for Responsible Management & Social Impact
To provide concentrated support for these agendas, the "MCI Center for Responsible Management & Social Impact" has now been established to act as a powerful coordinating body for university-wide initiatives and activities in the areas of responsibility, sustainability and ethics. Led by Regina Obexer, the Center sees itself as a platform and hub for connecting existing activities, supporting the systematic integration of responsibility, sustainability and ethics into degree programs and creating opportunities for students to get involved.
The Center's work is supported by working groups consisting of research, teaching as well as students and external partners who act as multipliers and co-creators.
Andreas Altmann, MCI Rector, explains, "The establishment of the Center for Responsible Management & Social Impact is another, important step in our work for social responsibility, sustainability and the future viability of our campus."
Regina Obexer, Head of Center for Responsible Management & Social Impact adds: "I am very pleased to be able to coordinate the important agendas of the Center. It provides a hub, point of contact and common platform for the MCI's diverse activities in these areas, making it easier to leverage synergies and drive initiatives forward in a targeted way, further strengthening our impact."
