Franz-Josef Falkner, Emil Chamson and Thomas Hausberger receive MCI Teaching Award 2021 | Motivation and commitment of teaching staff honored
"Excellent teaching is an essential and unalterable building block for the quality of a university", is the claim of the Entrepreneurial School® in regards to its teaching approach. In recognition of their outstanding achievements in teaching, three MCI professors again received the MCI Teaching Award this year. The award is based on students' course evaluations.
Dr. techn. Franz-Josef Falkner and Thomas Hausberger BSc, MSc. who both teach in Mechatronics, Design & Innovation and Mechatronics & Smart Technologies degree programs and Mag. Dr. Emil Chamson, who teaches as a language lecturer in several technical departments, received the MCI Teaching Award 2020/21.
"The success factors of good teaching are based, on the one hand, on technical expertise and good didactics and methodology, but the human factor in the learning process and the ability to inspire and motivate students is also immensely important," Claudia Mössenlechner, Deputy Head of the Academic Council at MCI, explains the background to the award.
The students particularly emphasized the very good structuring and the comprehensible and transparent presentation of the contents in all award winners. They also praised the extremely committed teaching style, personal dedication and ability to generate enthusiasm for the subject in question.
MCI Teaching Award
MCI’s Academic Council established the Teaching Award in 2015 in order to make excellent achievements in teaching visible. The award is presented annually to the three best-rated teachers based on the assessment of their overall ranking of the evaluation results by students.
