Quality, innovation & internationality: these fundamental principles of the MCI are the inspiration for a study program of the Entrepreneurial School® launching in fall 2022. In collaboration with the renowned International University of Monaco (IUM), students enrolled at both universities will be able to earn two academic degrees:

  • an MSc Master of Science in Business Research Methods from MCI
  • a DBA Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Monaco.

The part-time research-oriented program held in English throughout, is aimed at international executives, managers and experts from various disciplines, countries and fields. The internationally unique double degree option offers the advantage of earning a master's and doctoral degree within a study period of 36 months.

The Master of Science (MSc) degree is awarded at MCI after successful completion of the second year of study. The integrative interlinking with the doctoral program of IUM and the creditability of the study, research and examination achievements at MCI enable students to obtain a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) after successfully completing the study, research and examination achievements at the University of Monaco.

The MCI's Master program Business Research Methods specifically prepares students for the DBA program at IUM. The focus is on a high-quality scientific examination of research approaches, methods, principles and logics and their integrative linkage with a research question related to the student's own professional area.

The Doctor of Business Administration program at IUM is a doctoral program for managers, decision makers and experts from various disciplines, who are interested in applied business research, want to develop their personal research skills, and make a valuable contribution to current research practice in business & management sciences.

The international double degree program is based on an innovative blended teaching approach that includes on-campus face-to-face seminars and exams, online courses, coaching sessions, individual supervision of research papers, and participation in international conferences.

Both universities carry the prestigious, worldwide AACSB accreditation as confirmation of the highest academic quality. The study modules of the Double Degree Program are held at the attractive locations of Innsbruck, Monaco, Geneva and London.

Dr. Maria Kreuzer, academic director of the MCI Master's program, explains: "Researching and analyzing a complex management problem from an academic perspective enables individuals in the profession to develop intellectually, personally and professionally."

"The double degree program is offered in an innovative, part-time study format with six intensive attendance weeks at four attractive European locations. Online courses, coaching sessions, and personalized research supervision ensure a high degree of flexibility and relevance," adds Mag. Susanne E. Herzog, Head of Executive Education at MCI.

MCI Rector Prof. Dr. Andreas Altmann is delighted: "The MSc DBA Double Degree Program is a further step in the development of our Entrepreneurial School®. We look forward to guiding students from all over the world on their academic learning journey."

Dr. Jean Philippe Muller, General Director of the International University of Monaco, emphasizes: "The Double Degree Program jointly offered by IUM and MCI is the ideal choice for proven business and nonprofit professionals seeking the highest postgraduate qualification, without putting their careers on hold. It offers experienced managers the opportunity to study in-depth a real business issue of most significant interest to them and to directly transfer the knowledge gained into their working lives."

Dr. Hans Mühlbacher, retired University Professor, University of Innsbruck, and Professor Emeritus, International University of Monaco, is delighted: "It is simply great to see how two excellent universities –  the International University of Monaco and MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® – both of which mean a lot to me personally, are joining forces. I already congratulate them on a highly successful future!"
