Starting in the upcoming semester, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® will be the first institution of higher education in Austria to offer its students, alumni and employees the "Online Chinese Classroom" - an innovative way to learn Chinese online.

„Chinese Plus“, the world’s largest network platform for learning Chinese, hosts the digital cloud service. In close cooperation with the Chinese Embassy and the Directorate of Education in Austria, the MCI China Center and the MCI Language Center have now brought the online platform to Innsbruck.

Interactive online lectures and an extensive digital library with practical exercises enable students to learn Chinese at all levels and get to experience Chinese culture from anywhere and at any time. In addition, the platform offers the HSK Standard Course and Test - a standardized and internationally recognized Chinese language proficiency test, comparable to the English TOEFL.

MCI is not only the first institution to offer an Online Chinese Classroom of this kind, but also the third location in Austria, along with Vienna and Graz, to be allowed to conduct HSK tests and issue official HSK certificates. The course will initially be available exclusively to MCI students, alumni and staff, but from the winter semester of 2023 it will also be open to students at the European University Ulysseus, a consortium established by the MCI and seven other universities.

Wei Manske-Wang, Head of the China Center at MCI, is delighted, "The China Center builds bridges between people and cultures. We want to offer our students the chance to explore the multifaceted country of China and improve their international career opportunities through the HSK certificate."

Brigitte Huter, Director of the MCI Language Center, also explains, "With this expansion of our language course offerings, MCI students can dive into the Chinese language and culture and, if interested, be well prepared for careers in the Asian region."

"Innovation is in our genes. The Online Chinese Classroom is another step in the MCI's global positioning and networking as a renowned Entrepreneurial School®," adds MCI Rector Andreas Altmann.
