MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® looks back on a successful event week: The MCI Sustainability Week took place from May 22 to 27 at the campus in Innsbruck under the theme "Together for a sustainable future". The six-day event was aimed at MCI students and staff, pupils, companies, NGOs, and anyone interested in taking social responsibility and contributing to a better future.
Participants were invited to a range of interactive workshops, valuable talks, and exciting excursions during the MCI Sustainability Week. Together with experts and impact makers, they explored current topics such as climate change, waste separation, plastic alternatives, social aspects of sustainability, sustainable food, and collective action. Participants actively developed innovative approaches and solutions, paying special attention to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
One of the MCI Sustainability Week’s many highlights was the "Impact Makers Summit" – a fair, which connected visitors with organizations and companies from various sectors, followed by short presentations and a panel discussion moderated by MCI students.
High engagement in organization & participation
More than 500 people attended the events of the past week, which were organized by both MCI employees and students as part of a practical project. The main organizers, Janine Prokesch and Regina Obexer, are delighted with the active participation, "The diverse events that we were able to offer throughout the week were only made possible through the involvement of many colleagues at MCI and beyond. It's wonderful to see how many people engage in sustainability, and we are happy to have created a platform for this with the MCI Sustainability Week."
MCI Rektor Andreas Altmann is impressed by the successful event, stating, "The MCI Sustainability Week has shown how important it is for us to work together for a sustainable future. The enthusiasm and commitment of our students, staff, and partner organizations is encouraging, and we are proud to take a leading role in promoting sustainability."
