For the nineth time, Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol AG is presenting the "Raiffeisen Award for Students" to support students during their semesters abroad. The shared appreciation of international experience and global networks serves as the basis for the award and holds great added value for Tyrol as a business location, but also for the personal development of future managers.

This year's awards go to:

Beatrix Doreen Escherich | Master's program Management, Communication & IT

Beatrix Doreen Escherich will spend a semester at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore from September 2023. The excellent reputation of the renowned business school and the high-quality academic program, which ideally complements the contents at MCI, have convinced her. She also sees great value in gaining experience in India's extensive IT sector and getting to know the country's people and culture.

Her passion for sustainable technology solutions and applications is reflected in her future plans. After graduation, she would like to work in a consulting firm to implement sustainable IT solutions for government agencies and cities. In the longer term, she sees herself implementing international digitization projects: "I'm fascinated by the idea of using technology as a tool for social and environmental progress and want to help drive the development of smart cities."

Mario Kanetscheider | Bachelor's program Biotechnology & Food Engineering

He chose the University of Guelph in Canada for his stay abroad, because of the promising learning environment, the first-class lecturers and the free choice of courses. In addition to expanding his knowledge of biotechnology, Mario Kanetscheider hopes that his semester abroad will deepen his communication skills, broaden his personal horizons and strengthen the international networking of the two institutions.

After graduation, he wants to continue his academic career in the fields of bioinformatics and systems biology and pursue both a master's degree and a Ph.D.. As a longer-term goal, he aims to pursue a scientific career: "At the end of this adventurous educational journey, my goal is scientific profession here in Austria, preferably even in Tyrol, in order to advance the business location and research in the field of biotech."
