As part of the successful Distinguished Guest Lecture series, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® welcomed another high-ranking guest to Innsbruck: Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer. With the kind support of the Federation of Austrian Industries Tyrol and the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce, the well attended event at Congress Innsbruck offered a great opportunity for dialog and academic discourse.
After the welcoming address by MCI Rector Andreas Altmann and an introductory keynote speech by Federal Chancellor Nehammer, lively discussions ensured an inspiring exchange with the audience. The topics focused on Austria as a business location, particularly with regard to the economy, science, innovation, security, migration, integration, the labor market, pensions, and the EU.
For Chancellor Nehammer, however, the most important thing in all of these issues is not to shy away from decisions and responsibility. Maintaining a clear stance is essential, even if it may make you unpopular. In order to maintain Austria's prosperity, secure the welfare state, further develop innovative strength and competitiveness and guarantee a society based on democracy and the rule of law, work and performance are the key drivers. However, demographic change is creating enormous challenges that many people might not be aware of.
Our students share their experiences and give insights into courses, projects, and student life in the vibrant Alpine city of Innsbruck.
