MCI studies more popular than ever

Date 2024-07-03

Currently 4,000 applications for 1,300 study places | Technology, Life Sciences, IT, Business, Law, Tourism, Health & Social Affairs | High share of students working part-time | Qualifications in high demand on the job market

Performance, innovation, competitiveness, internationality, quality, and social responsibility: these are the common values of the 29 bachelor's and master's degree programs as well as complementary certificate courses, seminars, and tailor-made company training courses offered by the MCI in the fields of technology, innovation, life sciences, IT & digitalization, business, law, tourism, health & social affairs.

"It is probably our clear positioning and our close networking with the business world that has led to enormous demand again this year. By the end of June - earlier than ever before - we have already exceeded 4,000 applications. We expect a total of around 300-500 more applications during the summer. This means that we can allocate the 1,300 study places efficiently, have very few dropouts, and can offer interactive study conditions with our faculty," says Claudia Mössenlechner, Deputy Head of the Academic Council and Head of MCI Learning Solutions.

Brigitte Auer, Head of MCI Quality Management, adds, " All this in spite of a demanding admission procedure, the tuition fees that are charged in contrast to public universities, the high intensity of courses, examinations, seminar papers, projects, internships, stays abroad, and other components. It's great to see that our consistent efforts towards quality, academic feasibility, networking in science, business & society, and service quality are paying off."

Rector Andreas Altmann refers to the endearing MCI motto "Mentoring the motivated": "We started the MCI's success story 28 years ago with this claim. Since then, we have not only seen an ever-increasing number of applications, but also an incredible demand from the job market. Not only do a high proportion of our students already study part-time or at least work alongside their studies; full-time students are offered several jobs even before graduating, and our internships enable us to connect them with companies in Austria and abroad early on."
