MCI Confers Honorary Citizenship on Eugen Stark

Date 2024-11-12

Award for outstanding commitment to the Entrepreneurial School® and to industry, research, and innovation in Tyrol

In recognition of his exemplary achievements, his sustainable personal commitment related to the further development of MCI, the exploration of new fields of research, development, and knowledge transfer, his important bridging function to the local industry, and his dedication to creating competitive conditions, MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® confers the honorary citizenship of MCI upon Dr. Eugen Stark.

From 2005 to 2017, Dr. Eugen Stark worked in the private sector as a partner in a Tyrolean PR & marketing agency, focusing on project and crisis communication. The doctorate-holding lawyer previously held senior positions at the Tyrolean Chamber of Agriculture for almost 20 years, most recently as deputy chamber director. From 2017 to 2023, he served as the highly capable managing director of the Federation of Industries Tyrol, as a member of the MCI Advisory Board, MCI Supervisory Board, and as a board member of the MZT Association.

Thanks to his commitment to the Federation of Industries Tyrol and the bodies of MCI and MZT, the Entrepreneurial School® was able to significantly expand its study, continuing education, and research offerings in the areas of technology, digitalization, and IT. In addition to the Tyrolean Economic Forum, innovative technology and research forums were newly established, and the Salzburg Economic Forum was initiated as a completely new format in collaboration with the Federation of Industries Salzburg and other partners. Dr. Eugen Stark’s dedication also led to the establishment of a center for production, robotics & automation at MCI.

“Ideas, initiatives, and projects are not initiated and carried out by institutions, but by responsible people who take it upon themselves to shape the future and make the world a bit better, more livable, safer, more sustainable, and more pleasant. Today, we say thank you to such a person and express this with the conferment of honorary citizenship,” congratulates MCI Rector Andreas Altmann on behalf of the university and its community.
