Annika Holsten, a student from our bachelor's program Management & Law, had the opportunity to take part in a study trip to New York in November during her international semester at Queen's University in Canada. This trip was organized by the Queen's Commerce Law Society, for which Annika had successfully applied with a convincing letter of motivation.
In New York, the delegation visited the renowned law firms Milbank LLP and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where they gained an in-depth insight into the working methods and culture of the law firms through private guided tours, including participation in a moot court. A Queen's University alumnus led the visit to Milbank LLP, while a Q&A panel at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP provided further valuable insights.
Another highlight was the visit to Columbia Law School. Annika attended a lecture there and was given an exclusive tour of the historic Manhattan campus.
In addition, the group explored important cultural and financial sites in New York City, including the One World Trade Center Observatory, the Financial District, the New York Stock Exchange, and the New York Public Library.
After this impressive week in New York, Annika returned to continue her semester abroad at Kingston University, enriched with experiences that will have a lasting impact on her academic and personal development.
