Every year at the MCI Philosphicum, important topics of relevance to today's world are discussed and an exchange of experiences takes place between elderly managers, some of them retired, and young, future managers. After 10 years of MCI Philosphicum, the event was organized for the first time as an excursion to Kaunertal valley.
Invited by former mayor Pepi Raich, students of the bachelor program Nonprofit, Social & Health Care Management had the opportunity to meet with personalities such as Lothar Müller (former member of the National Council, Federal Council and founder of the MCI Philosophicum), Wilfriede Hribar (Tyrolean Parliament), Otto Muck (former rector of Innsbruck University), Georg Fritz (former headmaster of the Gymansium Sillgasse), Gottfried Jaud (Federal Councillor), Eugen Sprenger (City of Innsbruck), Bernhard Weber (former employee of Tiroler Wasserkraft) and Paul Wöll (former district governor of Lienz) to discuss topics related to climate change, the nature park, the glacier and the power plant.
All participants were warmly welcomed not only by Pepi Raich, but also by Vice Mayor Sarah Raich as well as representatives of the Kaunertal Valley and experts on climate change and sustainability. Together with Martin Frey (archivist and chronicler of the valley), Michaela Gasser-Mark (Clean Alpine Region project), Elisabeth Steinlechner (RegioL, Clean Alpine Region), Ernst Partl (Glacier Research) and Wolfgang Stroppa (Tiroler Wasserkraft), the day was structured with fishbowl discussions on future challenges and a guided tour of the museum "Mit aller Kraft". In the museum, the adaptation model region KLAR! Kaunergrat adaptation model region, the recession of the glaciers is thematized and impulses and ideas on progressive warming are set.
In addition, all participants enjoyed a regional and sustainable buffet by the local farmers from the Kauner Valley.
