A report by DiBSE year 2018
Well begun is half done. This also applies to the bachelor's programme "Digital Business & Software Engineering", which was launched in September 2018 for the first time.
Together with the DiBSE core team, the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Peter J. Mirski, is responsible for the organizational and administrative procedures and the planning of the courses.
Looking back, the first semester was absolutely exciting for us DiBSE students. We already got to know the first programming languages such as Python and C, learned something about business administration as well as various aspects of setting up a company. If looking at our curriculum, we can expect more exciting topics in the coming months, to which we are already anxiously awaiting.
As far as organization is concerned, it is worth mentioning that studying online does not mean being on one's own. Rather, we are optimally supported in all matters by our office contact person and, moreover, such a strong community within the student group can rarely be seen. Parallel to the study courses we have created our own forum in which we exchange information and help each other. Although we only see each other every 6 weeks at the face-to-face lectures at the MCI, we always take actions together, such as dining, bowling, and much more.
All in all, we can say that the online study program is extremely well structured and that the DiBSE team is always happy to meet the needs of the individual students.
Our students share their experiences and give insights into courses, projects, and student life in the vibrant Alpine city of Innsbruck.
