Also this year the Girls' Day took place on the 4th Thursday in April. We, as DiBSE Department were allowed to be part of it again.
By participating at the Girls' Day, professional gender stereotypes are broken down. All female pupils, companies, educational institutions and parents make an important contribution to make the chances in the working world fairer. Main goal of the event is that in the future it will be the girls own abilities and interests, and not their gender, that will determine their choice of career.
Almost 70 female potential students visited the MCI this year and gained an insight into all the technical study programs.
Our Office Managers Theresa Baumann & Vanessa Schmidt supervised our station with a hands-on example. This example consisted of a self-made Artificial Intelligence - using only pen, paper and paper cups - the students learned how quickly to train an AI to make it unbeatable good.
Vanessa & Theresa sum up: "We hope we were able to give the young women an informative and exciting day. We wanted to show them new ways to choose a profession & education. We certainly had a lot of fun and are already looking forward to next year's Girls' Day."
Our students share their experiences and give insights into courses, projects, and student life in the vibrant Alpine city of Innsbruck.
