Students of University of Nebraska at Omaha (USA) stay in the heart of the Alps

As part of our long-standing partnership, seventeen students from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (USA) visited our Entrepreneurial School® and spent an inspiring and instructive week in Innsbruck.

The students were a selected group who were accepted into the CBA Scholars Academy program in Omaha. The most promising students of a given year are selected at the start of their studies and benefit from a scholarship programme, additional course offerings and contacts to companies. One of the highlights of the programme was a stay in the heart of the Alps.

During the visit, the students were able to participate in the guest lecture given by Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl at the MCI. Another important cornerstone of the programme was a joint MCiT course with practice-oriented case study instruction. The visit of various regional companies was particularly interesting: The programme included Grassmayr Glockengießerei in Innsbruck, Loacker in South Tyrol, Tirol Werbung and Swarco in Wattens. The week was rounded off by cultural visits to Salzburg and a guided tour of the Bolzano Archaeological Museum, home of the Hauslabjoch mummy.

It was enriching for the MCI to welcome the students - who were accompanied by Professor Phani Adidam and Bethany Hughes, Director of the CBA Scholars Academy - as guests at the MCI. The partnership with the University of Nebraska (UNO) was thus further intensified and strengthened for the future.

Since 2006, the MCI and the UNO have maintained a university partnership that manifests itself in student exchanges, a double degree programme and teacher exchanges. With approximately 15,000 students, the University of Nebraska at Omaha is the second largest university in the state and shares the prestigious AACSB accreditation with the MCI.
