MCiT class 2018 - Data and Information Management

The Internet of Things (IoT) as an emerging technology has the potential to change a lot in our daily routines, e.g. the way we work, communicate, design products or execute business processes.

Thus, IoT education must be incorporated into courses and curricula of different disciplines. Students need to have a general understanding of its basics and their potential effects on various fields of our private and professional life.

In our Masters Program Management, Communication & IT (MCiT) Prof. Dr. Reinhard Bernsteiner introduces students to the basic principles of IoT. The lecture “Data and Information Management” is built as a hands-on workshop.

Sensors collect data and transfer them via a Raspberry Pie to a cloud-based IoT-Platform. This platform is used to collate, aggregate, analyze and visualize the collected data.
