MCI professorship awarded to Pascal Schöttle
Our DiBSE lecturer Pascal Schöttle was awarded the professorship by MCI Rector Andreas Altmann and the Head of the academic council Franz Pegger on June 15, 2022 during his inaugural lecture entitled "The safety of supposedly intelligent machines". 25th MCI Anniversary for Peter J. Mirski
It is with great pleasure that we congratulate our Head of Department & Studies Peter J. Mirski on a quarter of a century at MCI! For 25 years now, Peter has been making a significant contribution to the shaping and further development of MCI | THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SCHOOL®. When we teed off at the driving range in Rossau, we not only celebrated our boss' 25 years at MCI, but at the same time our 20th department anniversary.
Achievement scholarships
Exceptional academic achievements by a total of 27 MCiT & DiBSE students and alumni were again honored this year with scholarships of excellence. In the fine ambience of Café Sacher, our Head of Department & Studies Peter J. MCiT Forum '22
Our MCiT Master students dealt with the topic "Digital Business in Asia - How is Digital Business conducted in Asia?" at this year's MCiT Forum on June 01, 2022. A total of 9 international speakers from industry and research provided exciting insights into Asia's handling of digital transformation during 7 talks. At the final panel discussion, moderated by Head of Department & Studies Peter J. Mirski, Fullbright Professor Deepak Khazanchi from our sister university the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Wei Manske-Wang, Head of the MCI China Center, exchanged views on the meaningful topic "Outsourcing digital business to Asia - Still an opportunity?". Raiffeisen Award for MCiT Master student Florian Bigelmaier
His academic achievements, personal motivation and future plans convinced the jury of Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol AG and provided the MCiT Maser student Florian Bigelmaier with this year's "Raiffeisen Award for Students". Our long-standing partner awards this prize annually to students in their semester abroad due to a shared appreciation of international experiences and global networks. Florian is spending the coming semester in India at our partner university, the Indian Institute of Management, in Bangalore. You can read more about his ambitious plans in the news article.
Tyrolean Science Fund TWF
We are very pleased that two of the exciting research projects that have been awarded with the Tyrolean Science Fund come from the ranks of our research unit "Digital Transformation"! Pint of Science Festival
At the PINT OF SCIENCE FESTIVAL research is presented in the pub next door. One of the participants was our scientific DiBSE staff member, Martin Nocker, who presented his latest findings under the motto: "Cat or Guacamole? ICIAP in Lecce
Scientific DiBSE staff member Florian Merkle, MCI professor Pascal Schöttle and DiBSE alumnus Daniel Aumayr recently attended the ICIAP International Conference on IMAGE ANALYSIS AND PROCESSING in Lecce, Italy and convinced the audience with their conference contributions in the area of IT Security & Privacy! EDULEARN
The 14th edition of the annual EDULEARN "International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies" took place this year from July 04 to 06, 2022 in Palma de Mallorca. Our research team around Head of Department & Studies Peter J. Mirski, Professor Dietmar Kilian, Professor Teresa Spieß, Assistant Susann Kruschel and the two MCiT Alumni Arno Rottensteiner and Valentin Voelckel presented four conference papers. Start of studies for our first semester students
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our freshers to the MCI Campus. We will kick off with 70 DiBSE first semester students on September 02. We will then welcome our Bachelor and Master MCiT freshers at the beginning of October. With the start of the academic year 2022_23, our DiBSE and MCiT community is growing by about 170 more members!
