On May 20, our MCI | Business & Management Bachelor students had the opportunity to get to know Palfinger, the world's leading crane manufacturer headquartered in Bergheim, Salzburg. The students were invited to the company's 90th anniversary celebration, Palfinger AG, and gained first-hand insights into the company's day-to-day business and strategies for the future. Through personal conversations with employees, the students were able to experience connections between the content of their studies and the real world.
Palfinger AG began in 1932 as a small workshop in Schärding and is now a listed technology and engineering company that provides hydraulic crane and lifting solutions. In addition to an impressive showcase of achievements, the 90th anniversary celebration also served to show young motivated students career opportunities in this internationally active group. Andreas Klauser, CEO of Palfinger: "We therefore invited young talents from a wide variety of schools and universities. We have fewer and fewer well-trained specialists."
Thomas Stöckl, head of the program, and Florian Blösl, research assistant at the department, joined 15 students from the class of 2021 at the anniversary celebration at the exhibition center in Salzburg to see Palfinger's success story for themselves on site.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Stöckl, head of the BA Business & Management program: "In addition to the impressive development over the last 90 years, it was particularly interesting to learn more about the future orientation and importance of ongoing development at Palfinger AG."
