18 students of the class of 2018 of our bachelor's degree program in Social Work took the initiative beyond their studies to get involved in an EU-funded project focusing on "women's rights" and launched the solidarity project "Awareness for women's rights".

With their commitment, the student group was also able to claim the Austrian Youth Award 2020 in the category "European Initiatives".

Our study program warmly congratulates the team!

The Austrian Youth Award annually honors outstanding projects and initiatives of 'out-of-school' youth work in Austria.

Within the framework of this project, the students dealt with the rights of women in Austria as well as current problem areas, focusing primarily on 4 topics:

  • Gender Pay Gap
  • Human Trafficking
  • Intersectional discrimination of women on the Innsbruck ️housing market
  • Queer women and approaches in Social Work

In the course of the project, the project group developed the following educational video on the topic:

The project group "Awareness for women's rights" used the International Human Rights Day in 2019 to raise awareness among the Tyrolean population about the many facets of trafficking of women. For this purpose, in cooperation with LEFÖ - Counseling, Education and Support for Migrant Women, case stories with further information on trafficking of women were packaged together with a sweet greeting in small gift boxes and then distributed to the population in downtown Innsbruck.
