After a longer break, the Study Tour with our Finnish partner university could take place again this year. For one week six students from Kokkola and the head of the department Jana Holm were our guests.
Monday started with showing the guests our city. In the evening, they had the opportunity to get to know the UVET students and to engage in a lively conversation during an informal get-together and an entertaining pub quiz. In the following days, an interesting and varied program, consisting of a mix of lectures and excursions, awaited our Finnish guests. In addition to the visit to Innsbruck's municipal services on Thursday, the Adler Lacke company also gave the students a tour of their production facility in Schwaz on Wednesday. Following this, a visit to the famous Schwaz silver mine was of course an obvious choice. On Friday, we ended the week with a short hike to the Arzler and Umbrüggler Alm.
The cooperation with Centria has existed for several years as part of a double degree program. Students have the opportunity to obtain two Bachelor degrees (Centria and MCI). The study program is extended by only two semesters. The annual study tour gives students the opportunity to get to know the partner university and to make first contacts in Innsbruck or Kokkola. A study tour to Finland will then be offered to MCI students in the fall.
