ECJ judge François Biltgen guest at MCI and book presentation: The ethical spirit of EU law by Markus Frischhut

The current debate about the so-called "Good Friday judgement" exemplifies that interesting questions arise at the interface of law and ethics.

It is therefore a pleasure that François Biltgen, judge at the European Court of Justice, will visit MCI for a guest lecture. Biltgen was a rapporteur at the European Court of Justice in numerous cases dealing with the relationship between EU law and religion, and he will speak in his lecture on the balance between freedom of religion and other fundamental rights.

Part of this event is also the presentation of the book "The Ethical Spirit of EU Law" by FH-Prof. Dr. Markus Frischhut, full-time lecturer at the department of Management & Law, who wrote it within the Jean Monnet Chair of the European Union for European Integration and Ethics. The publication is unique in that it deals with the relationship between EU law and ethics in a comprehensive way for the first time, and has been published open access by Springer.

The event will be held in German and is open for the general public (not only for experts).
