Belachew Gebrewold, head of Department & Studies, welcomed the first-year students of the Master of Social Work, Social Polity & Management program at MCI.
As part of the first course the students got to know the MCI as well as staff members from administration and teaching, representatives of the Austrian Student Union and Student & Career Services.
The freshers start as the first cohort with the study program Social Work, Social Policy and Management, which has been expanded to include future-oriented topics.
The study program deals with the most current topics. Practical projects and case studies in cooperation with established institutions ensure an up-to-date and practice-oriented transfer of knowledge.
With regard to the requirements of the professional field, the study program combines the three central focuses of Social Work, social Policy and Social Management. At the beginning of the program, students also decide in which of these 3 focal areas, amounting to 15 ECTS, they would like to acquire in-depth knowledge from the 2nd to the 4th semester.
A career-friendly time model and a combination of classroom teaching, MCI webinars and guided self-study provide students with excellent opportunities to pursue a career during their studies or to acquire diverse professional experience in social institutions and to combine their studies with a center of life outside Innsbruck.
