Off to Pians in the Tyrolean Oberland: Natalie Gartner (Bachelor Bio- & Food Technology), Lisa Bertolini (Bachelor Bio- & Food Technology) and Hannah Wunsch (Master Food Technology & Nutrition) applied for the Handl Tyrol Merit Scholarship 2022 and received € 500 (Bachelor) and € 1,000 (Master). They were also invited to Pians together with MCI staff to visit the company and meet Managing Director Karl Christian Handl.

As we entered the site, we were already welcomed by a large screen announcing our visit and welcoming the MCI. Christian Handl (CEO), Josef Amprosi (Plant Manager), Carmen Geiger (R&D) and Gerhard Kreiseder (Head of Human Resources) officially welcomed us and took us on a guided tour of the plant, followed by a get-together for an exchange of ideas over regional snacks. We want to thank Handl Tyrol once again for this exciting, interesting and tasty morning.

About Handl Tyrol

Handl Tyrol is an Austrian family business already in its fourth generation. The company now has five locations and employs over 600 people. Handl Tyrol is known for its courage and pioneering spirit and won the "Fabrik Award Austria" in 2020 with its facility in Haiming.

Since the first project collaboration between the MCI and Handl Tyrol in 2014, we have repeatedly worked together on FE-relevant issues as part of MCI students' final theses. In addition, several alumni of our department are now working at the company in key positions. We are looking forward to future exciting projects and a continued successful partnership.
