In the blog series "The Office: Behind the Scenes of your Med-Tech Department", we introduce you to the team behind the Medical & Health Technologies Department, which is responsible for the organisation and design of your daily study routine.

The lecturers of the department and their background stories are just as exciting and wide-ranging as their courses. That is why we want to introduce you to the people behind the names and degrees.

Name: Bernhard Hollaus

Position within the company: University lecturer

Area of responsibility: Sports technology with a focus on electronics and machine learning.

Education/Career: Bernhard completed his bachelor's degree in electronics and then his master's degree in industrial technology at the FH Technikum in Vienna. After his studies, Bernhard Hollaus worked as a technical developer, measurement engineer, analyst and project manager for well-known companies such as Artesyn Austria and Siemens AG. In 2013, his path finally led him to the MCI as a university lecturer. During his employment at the MCI, he completed his PhD in sports science at the University of Innsbruck.

Favourite task/area: Of course, teaching and research in the field of sports technology. :)

How the team describes Bernhard: Bernhard is a great person. He inspires with his comprehensive knowledge, his calm nature and his reliability. You can always count on him, and he always has an open ear for all colleagues and students. We all appreciate Bernhard very much and are glad that we can now call him to 100% of our MedTech team.
