When the fruits of many hours of hard work, intensive discussions and headaches are also recognized and appreciated outside of the MCI, it fills us with pride. Fortunately, the students of the Mechatronics degree programs are very often among award winners and so we are delighted to see two graduates receive awards again this year.
Bachelor's graduate and master's student of Mechatronics & Smart Technologies Patrick Haselwanter took second place in the coveted Platform Mechatronics competition in the category "Best Bachelor Thesis 2024" with his thesis entitled "Optimal Design of an Interleaved Boost Converter".
The Platform Mechatronics Austria is an association of mechatronics-oriented UAS degree programs in Austria. Every year, a jury awards prizes for the best Bachelor's and Master's theses.
Master's graduate Wolfgang Grosek is another award winner among MCI Mechatronics graduates. Grosek received one of the coveted Marshall Plan scholarships back in 2023, giving him the opportunity to write his thesis at the renowned Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Wolfgang Grosek has now received the Best Paper Fellow Award at the Physiatry Conference in Orlando, Florida, for the paper he wrote as part of his master's thesis. The prize will be awarded at the conference on February 23, 2024 and accepted on his behalf by his supervisor.
We would like to congratulate both award winners and look forward to another successful year!
