Seventeen students from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (USA) spent an exciting educational week in Innsbruck at the beginning of May as part of the partnership with the Management Center Innsbruck. These are the most promising students selected to study in the CBA Scholars Academy program in Omaha, who also benefit from a scholarship program, additional course offers and contacts to companies. One of the core components of this program is the short program at the MCI. The MCI and the University of Nebraska maintain a university partnership since 2006, which manifests itself in student exchange, a double degree program and a teacher exchange. With about 15,000 students, the University of Nebraska at Omaha is the second largest university in the state and, among other things, shares the prestigious AACSB accreditation with the MCI. Some of the program highlights were the guest lecture of Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl at the MCI; a joint course with hands-on case study analysis with MCI students; visits to different companies in the region such as Grassmayr bell foundry in Innsbruck; Loacker in South Tyrol; the Tirol Werbung and Swarco in Wattens. The week was rounded off with interesting cultural visits to Salzburg and a guided tour through the archeology museum Bolzano - home of the mummy of Hauslabjoch. For the MCI, it was enriching to welcome the students accompanied by Professor Phani Adidam and Bethany Hughes, Director of the CBA Scholars Academy. This short-program has further enhanced and strengthened MCI’s partnership with the University of Nebraska.
