A journey of over 800 kilometers on two wheels - this is the remarkable story of Ass. Prof. Guilhem Lecouteux of the Université Côte d'Azur, who recently visited the Entrepreneurial School® in Innsbruck. This adventure, however, was not merely an endurance test, it was basically a declaration of exchange, collaboration, and a staunch commitment to green mobility.
Ass. Prof. Lecouteux, who is also the Vice Dean for International Relations at the Université Côte d'Azur's Graduate School of Economics and Management, set off from the dazzling shores of Nice. A simple bicycle was his deliberate choice made to underline the significance of an environmentally friendly mode of transport and to contribute towards shrinking the expansive carbon footprint of our times.
His first port of call was Genoa, where he dedicated five days in engaging with the initiatives of our European University ULYSSEUS. The journey then continued to the historical waterways of Venice. Here, he participated for five days in a conference before embarking on the final leg of his trip to Innsbruck. The entire cycling trip punctuated by overnight stays, spanned across six days.
His choice of the bicycle as his primary mode of transport loudly echoes a resounding endorsement for green mobility. It underlines the feasibility and sensibility of sustainable alternatives in our everyday lives, even on long journeys. It's a potent reminder that individual actions can have a profound impact on environmental conservation, and it highlights the pivotal role that educational institutions play in fostering such awareness.
During his sojourn at the Entrepreneurial School®, the professor met staff and faculty from various MCI departments. The objective was to foster discussions and carve out avenues for future student exchanges, collaborations, and joint research projects. His visit also served as a platform to bolster awareness of green mobility within the MCI community.
This exceptional journey serves as a beacon of personal dedication and commitment that resonate deeply within the academic community. It reminds us that the realms of knowledge and collaboration are boundless, and sometimes, the journey towards an objective is as significant as the goal itself, in particular, when such a journey subtly champions our planet's wellbeing.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Ass. Prof. Guilhem Lecouteux for his visit to MCI and for his tireless efforts in sensitizing and promoting green mobility.
