The first dual study program at MCI, in the province of Tyrol as well as in the EUREGIO "Tyrol - South Tyrol - Trentino" celebrates the start of its full expansion. On September 4, 2023, the third cohort of students began their dual education, which is made possible in cooperation with eight corporate partners from North, East and South Tyrol. Three cohorts of students will be studying at the same time from September 2023, meaning that the bachelor's degree program is now fully developed.
At the beginning of their second day of study at MCI, the students were ceremoniously welcomed to the program by the department together with the corporate partners at a joint kick-off. Some fellow students from years 2021 and 2022 also warmly welcomed the new faces.
The introduction by Werner Stadlmayr, Head of the program, was followed by welcoming words by Michael Kraxner, Head of the Research & Development department in the field of Technologies & Life Sciences at the Entrepreneurial School®.
Through their individual presentations, the representatives of the partner companies gave the students the opportunity to get a general overview of all companies and trades represented in the study program and to engage in conversation during the subsequent get-together.
The welcome was rounded off by the student representation: Shpetim Gashi, as representative of the cohort of 2022, addressed very moving and personal words to the new fellow students.
Later, the course was set for the future: In a casual atmosphere, the students were able to talk to all of the company partners and make connections through the respective partnerships. The get-together was all about gaining a sense of the program, networking and exploring the connections between the individual trades while deepening synergies, commitment and motivation.
Eight companies from North, East and South Tyrol offer apprenticeships to the students of the dual study program in order to promote the smart building technology of tomorrow. In line with the slogan "Combine studies & professional practice", dual students at MCI can enjoy the benefits of an academic education with simultaneous work experience in the comprehensive field of building technology.
