The study phases in Smart Building Technologies are also designed in close cooperation with our partner companies. At the beginning of the year, our third-semester students had the opportunity to attend two half days of building technology experience reports and application-oriented teaching by Daniel Pischl.
In the “Ventilation Technology” lecture, the head of the ventilation and air conditioning department at ORTNER Ges.m.b.H. was available to answer detailed questions about ventilation projects from the field. Among other things, the students learned what it means to select and plan ventilation and air conditioning components according to the requirements of modern building construction and to use them in smart buildings.
This enabled all students to immerse themselves in current projects, planning strategies, and product solutions in the field of ventilation technology from this partner company during the course of the lecture and to experience first-hand building technology know-how from ORTNER's business practice.
The students clearly enjoyed this direct transfer of practical experience based on the latest building technology projects during the course.
The lively exchange between the students and our guest lecturer was also appreciated by course director Silvia Öttl, who promotes and helps to shape the involvement of the partner company in the course.
The course would like to thank ORTNER for making this teaching assignment possible and Daniel and Silvia for this practice-oriented offer.

Our guest lecturer was particularly pleased with the lively discussions and the students' interest in exchanging ideas - at this point in their studies, our third-semester students can already draw on three practical phases and the entrepreneurial practice they have gained in our partner companies. ©MCI / Silvia Öttl
