With 'Business Friday', the MCI study programs Bachelor Wirtschaft & Management for Professionals and Master International Business & Management offer a top-class knowledge and discussion platform on current economic topics. This time we are right in the middle of the turbulent times. Is it a hell ride? A disaster? Or are we just experiencing the beginning of an entrepreneurial paradise with almost utopian possibilities? What are hurdles and obstacles for some are drivers and accelerators for others.
On May 6, we talked with passionate, successful startup founders and speakers about current challenges startups face and the opportunities and risks. Alexander Koll, the COO of Werkstätte Wattens, welcomed our students of the Bachelor Wirtschaft & Management for Professionals and the Master International Business & Management to Werkstätte Wattens. The exciting keynotes were led through by our head of studies Bernd Kirschner and our Professor for innovation management Oliver Som. The rousing series of lectures began with Gloria Kraus, Founder & CEO of Hollbium in Stockholm/Sweden, who was virtually connected to the event. Robert Schimpf, Head of InnCubator and Robert Eller, Innovation Manager at Pfeifer Innovation Hub continued the interesting presentations. Finally, Victoria Noack (Founder & CEO, HealthMe App) and Martin Granig (Founder & CEO, Monkee GmbH) also provided very vivid insights into the life of a founder. Robert Eller, Victoria Noack and Martin Granig are all successful graduates of our department.
All of them provided profound insights into their entrepreneurship experiences in their presentations and in the plenary discussion. They shared their success stories and their learnings and showed how new ways of thinking, inspiration, courage and perseverance can help you get started as an entrepreneur. In the very active plenary discussion, we were able to experience passionate speakers who gave insights into the benefits but also the challenges of start-ups without filters.
Following the keynotes and the plenary discussion, our bachelor and master students were presented with real-life challenges of entrepreneurs in parallel working sessions, which our students will have to work on in the next four weeks with the guidance of the Department of Business & Management. Insights on this will also be available on social media, including on Business & Management's Instagram and LinkedIn channel.
Here we would like to express our sincere thanks to the entrepreneurs for the trust they have in us and our great students: Wolfgang Kathan from finbalanced; Oliver Espig from ABS/Pyua; Robin Klimmt from Gronda; Gloria Kraus from Hollbium; Lorenz Kopp & Mattis Kloepper from SipTogether; Michael Santek and Armin Bauhofer from BHS Technologies GmbH; Michael Strobel from UP STREAM ENERGY; Anna Greil – graduate of our department and founder of uptraded; Victoria Noack – graduate of our department and founder of HealthMe App; Martin Granig – graduate of our department and CEO of Monkee GmbH and finally Robert Eller – graduate of our department and Innovation Manager at Pfeifer Innovation Hub.
At the end of our Business Fridays, we were finally able to toast once again in person with our students to a successful event and hopefully a prosperous semester. We are very pleased that our entrepreneurship initiatives at our department are working out so impressively. We wish the founders continued success, especially now in these turbulent times.
