As part of the Event Management course, the students travelled to Serfaus at the beginning of the third semester together with their lecturer Wolfram Auer to gain an insight into the destination and its events.
After an enjoyable bus ride, about 60 students from the "Tourism, Leisure & Event Management" major were warmly welcomed at the Serfaus Cultural Center. The chairman of the TVB Lukas Heymich first presented some facts and figures about the region and also informed the students in detail about the destination's marketing. After a ride up the mountain on the Alpkopf cable car, Christoph Schalber, managing director of the Komperdellbahn, not only provided insights into the Hög adventure park, but also reported news about the Komperedell cable car, which is currently being replaced by a 10-seater single-cable gondola lift from Doppelmayr as part of a huge construction project.
After a tasty lunch at the Seealm Hög, the students tested the "Schneisenfeger" family coaster in the afternoon and then travelled home to Innsbruck.
The students will now develop both winter and summer events for the destination Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis in small groups as part of the course Event Management. These will be evaluated and awarded prizes in December during a presentation to a jury of experts and the destination partner. The winners will not only receive attractive prizes, but it will also be examined whether the destination will include the event in their portfolio and, if so, whether they will implement it.
We would like to thank our destination partner for the great excursion, the informative presentations and the delicious catering.
