Our master's student Anna-Sophia spent her semester abroad in Thailand. Here is her experience report:
I have been studying at Mahidol University in Thailand for three months now. The university is one of the best in the country - you even get a certificate from the Thai princess when you graduate.
As we are only a very small group of students - and I am the only one not on the entire program - contact with the other students and professors is very close. We gain exciting insights into the industry and it is very interesting to see how different the working world in Asia is from ours.
As the master's courses are only held on Saturdays and Sundays, I have a lot of time to discover Bangkok and several travel destinations in the surrounding area. I have learnt so much about Thailand and Asia in general and couldn't have wished for a better place to spend my semester abroad. What I will miss the most is the street food waiting on every corner and the hospitality of the locals. Respect and politeness are really important here, and it is enriching for me to see how strongly these values are practiced in everyday life.
My time here is certainly one of the best of my life so far. I'm really enjoying every moment of this trip - for example, I'm currently on a small island in a hostel on the beach and planning my next few weeks before heading back to Innsbruck.
