Erasmus+ project "Ulysses - Student Case Competition": First partner meeting in Innsbruck at MCI

Date 2022-03-24

The first partner meeting of the Erasmus+ project "Ulysses - Student Case Competition" took place in Innsbruck at MCI.

The project started in July 2021 and is a cooperation between the MCI Family Business Center (Austria) and the partner institutions University of Szeged (Hungary), Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy), University of Vienna (Austria), Univations GmbH (Germany) and Agentur Fundus (Austria). The first personal partner meeting took place in Innsbruck at the MCI in mid-February 2022. The focus of this two-day meeting of the six international partners was on the coordination and finalization of the procedure and the rules of the competition. The various partners presented first developed case studies and problems of family businesses. Strategies for implementing the project plans were discussed.

In early 2023, the "Ulysses - Student Case Competition", the first digital case competition for students at European universities, will take place. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ project, students receive the opportunity to work on real problems of family businesses in international teams. Thus, they can test their theoretical knowledge in practice and make international contacts. The aim of the project is to sustainably improve the entrepreneurial ability of students. The Ulysses digital student competition picks up on trends that are becoming increasingly important in preparing for today’s working world: dealing with digital learning and interaction environments, and the practical teaching of entrepreneurial skills - both set in context of problems of regionally based family businesses. The "Ulysses - Student Case Competition" represents an exemplary European pilot initiative.
