The City
Cancún is a city in southeast Mexico on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Located on the Caribbean Sea it is a significant tourist destination in Mexico.
The city has quite a young history starting with a tourism project in the 1970ies. Since then it has undergone a comprehensive transformation from being an undiscovered fisherman's island to being one of the two most well-known Mexican resorts, along with Acapulco.
The University
Universidad Anáhuac Cancún is part of the Anáhuac University Network with 9 universities in Mexico. It hosts 38 undergraduate as well as 15 postgraduate and doctoral programs in a large variety of different fields of study.
