While studying Business Administration & Business Psychology

This program is designed to offer you the flexibility to balance your studies with other commitments. Through our interactive live online sessions and expert lecturers from the field, you will apply theory directly to real-world situations. The mix of online sessions and approximately six face-to-face on-campus days per semester ensures that you can stay flexible while building meaningful connections with both your peers and lecturers.

The degree program is structured so that each semester builds on the previous one, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of business principles and human behavior. In the final semester, you will apply all this knowledge in practical settings, equipping you to address real-world challenges in a diverse and digital business landscape.

Additionally, you will be equipped with business- and research skills, which are essential analytical skills for your future career.

Our department and the MCI Career Center regularly provide up-to-date information about internship positions and the situation on the labor market in general.

Study projects

As part of practice-oriented projects, students are provided with the opportunity to work with local and international businesses. This allows them to immediately apply their newly acquired knowledge in practice and in collaboration with the project team. Their theoretical knowledge is further deepened by a mandatory internship of several weeks duration.

The internship requirement can be waived for students with at least two years’ relevant professional experience. In all other cases, students in the 6th semester are expected to complete a relevant internship lasting at least twelve weeks.

After studying Business Administration & Business Psychology

Studying at MCI is an investment in a successful future. Through close cooperation with industry and the practical orientation of all courses, MCI graduates are in particularly high demand on the job market and have several job offers even before graduation.

Professional opportunities

The blend of business administration and business psychology opens up a wide range of career opportunities. With expertise in both business strategy and human behavior, you will develop an interdisciplinary perspective that is highly valuable across many industries and roles—not just in consulting, but far beyond. Here are a few career paths where your skills will be especially relevant:

Human Resources, Personnel & Organizational Development
As an HR manager, you must understand both the human and organizational sides. On the human side, you need to know individual motivation, and decision-making and understand how teams (mal-)function. On the other side, you need to focus on what the organization needs—making strategic decisions and positioning the right people in the right roles.

Marketing, Consumer Insights & Sales
In marketing, corporate communication, or brand management, you will need to understand consumer behavior and your company’s goals. You will manage budgets, identify your target audience, and find the best ways to connect with them to sell your product or service.

Consulting & Project Management
With the interdisciplinary skills you gain, you will be able to adapt to different perspectives within a company. You will balance human-centered approaches with operational improvements and team dynamics, making you a strong candidate for project management, while keeping your organization’s key priorities in focus.

Leadership & Entrepreneurship
You will be ready to step into leadership roles or start your own ventures, leveraging your knowledge of strategy, market trends, and consumer psychology to drive success.

Questions & Answers

For whom is this program suitable?

Anybody with a valid university qualification for a social, business or legal sciences study program can apply for this study program. However, due to the flexibility of this online program it is especially suitable for people:

  • who would like to enhance their career or transition into new roles, but would not like to stop working whilst studying
  • with other occupations, like child care, voluntary work, and professional athletes who need a flexible online program to fulfill these other responsibilities
  • who need a flexible program for different reasons
Is this a psychology program?

No, this is a business program with a specialization in business psychology. You obtain at least 35 in business administration and 45 ECTS in Business Psychology.

Does MCI have other Bachelor programs with a similar time model?

Yes, MCI offers the bachelor programs Betriebswirtschafts online and Business Administration online which have the same time model as Betriebswirtschaft & Wirtschaftspsychology online. MCI also has a master with a similar time model: Business Psychology & Management. You can also apply for several study programs, if you would like to study in an online study program but are not quite sure yet which programs fits you best.

Is class attendance mandatory?

Yes, regular attendance at both online and face-to-face is mandatory for all students. Up to 25 percent of unexcused absences are permissible. You have to communicate any absence from a course to your office manager beforehand.

When is the best time to apply for a study place?

In total there are five application rounds. In each application round, places are allocated on a rolling basis. Therefore, we recommend that you apply early. Applicants who achieve an above-average performance in the application procedure are admitted immediately. All other applicants will be put on a waiting list until the end of the application period. Should one of the applicants admitted not accept the study place offered to him or her, the applicant highest on the waiting list will be offered their place, and so on. This opportunity will remain until the beginning of the respective semester.

Is it possible to apply for two or more study programs? May I apply more than once a year?

Yes. Multiple applications are welcome as long as a plausible reason is provided in your cover letter. If you are admitted to two or more study programs, you are required to inform us of your final decision by the conclusion of the application procedures.

No, you may not apply more than once a year for one study program. You are welcome to apply again the year after.

I have not yet received my diploma. Can I still apply?

Yes. It is possible, and it is even recommended that you apply before obtaining your school-leaving certificate in order to secure one of the limited places in your desired study program. Please include your most recent certificates available in your application. Should your application be successful, you may submit your degree certificate before the start of your studies.

Can I complete the admission procedure from abroad?

Yes. Our admission process is online and therefor it is possible to complete it from abroad.

Can previous qualifications such as degrees, examinations, scientific activities, or practical experience be recognized?

A full or partial recognition of qualifications and professional experience - where relevance to the degree has been established - can be granted upon admission to the respective program.

Studies: Qualifications gained as part of a degree program at a national or international university, university of applied sciences or other institution of higher education or as part of other courses of study may be counted towards your studies, only where relevant proof is provided.

The recognition of qualifications merely exempts the student from his or her responsibility to attend a respective course. However, the sitting of the final exam of the course is required.

Internship: Students with a minimum of two years practical experience may apply for exemption from the mandatory internship.

What happens if I cannot complete my studies within the three years planned?

Of course, it is our goal that as many of our students as possible complete their Bachelor's degree after six semesters and we are also very proud that our drop-out rate is no higher than in attendance courses. However, we also know that there are good reasons why it might be difficult to successfully continue your studies - for example, if your life circumstances change and a new job requires more time. Therefore, it is possible to interrupt your studies once and continue them at a later date. In this case, please contact the department at an early stage.
