Software developer for bulldozers and crawler-mounted loaders, Liebherr-Werk Telfs GmbH

Study program: Mechatronics (Bachelor)

When I look back at my time at MCI...

... I proudly remember that I mastered the challenging Bachelor and Master degrees without having any technical knowledge having completed my high school degree. Despite this technical knowledge deficit, I pushed through my studies with a certain amount of extra effort and always felt that I was in good hands and felt I was on the right path. My professional success today confirms this impression of the quality of my studies.

How did your studies prepare you for your current job?

As a developer of software for bulldozers and loaders, technical programming knowledge and a broad knowledge of electrics and mechanics is necessary in order to implement the functions required and to be able to control the corresponding components of the machines adequately. The mechatronics study programs prepared me well for this task, as I have a basic knowledge in each of the above-mentioned fields, which I can easily expand with specific knowledge if required.

Above all, I am benefitting from the control engineering focus of my studies when it comes to programming new functions and parameterizing those on the caterpillar in use.
