"Studying part-time at MCI was the ideal way for me to combine my athletic and academic goals. As a ski racer, I am on the road a lot and train or race mainly during the day, so the online lectures in the evening really met my schedule."

Questions & Answers

What is the difference between a part-time and a full-time program?

The contents of the modules are the same in both time models. The only difference lies in the courses' organizational form and the duration of a semester. You can find more details on the websites of the respective study programs.

What types of part-time study programs are offered?

We offer our part-time study programs in various formats. Programs designed almost exclusively for on-site attendance usually take place on Friday afternoons and Saturdays at the MCI Campus.

Some study programs, on the other hand, are offered in a blended learning format.  These combine regular online webinars, usually held in the evenings, with blocked attendance days, allowing for the greatest possible flexibility in terms of time and location.

You can find more details on the websites of the respective study programs.

How long does a part-time study program take?

As with the full-time models, the part-time Bachelor's programs consist of six semesters, while the Master's and Executive Master's programs consist of four (exception: two semesters for Digital Business & Tech Law LL.M.). However, the duration of the semesters differs. For example, fall and spring semesters usually start earlier and end later in our part-time models.

You can find more details on the websites of the respective study programs.

What is the tuition fee of a part-time study program?

For citizens of the following countries, the tuition fee is EUR 363,36 per semester plus a fee for compulsory membership to the Austrian National Union of Students:

  • EU citizens,

  • EEA and Swiss citizens, and

  • non-EU citizens who, according to § 2 of the University of Applied Sciences Studies Act, are subject to § 1 of the Regulation on Eligible Groups of Persons (see Federal Law Gazette II No. 340/2013, in its current version).

For students of non-EU countries not considered eligible according to above regulations, the tuition fee is as follows:

  • Bachelor’s programs: EUR 7,000 / semester plus compulsory Austrian National Union of Students membership fee

  • Master’s programs: EUR 7,000 / semester plus compulsory Austrian National Union of Students membership fee

Your application documents regarding nationality will be assessed in detail as part of your admission procedure. Scholarships are available for applicants from non-EU countries and can be applied for as part of your online application.

The tuition fees for Executive Master programs vary and can be found on the respective websites.

How much time does a part-time study program require?

The workload can vary from program to program and week to week. In addition to weekly classroom sessions and online webinars, you will also be expected to spend time on project work and self-study. Nevertheless, part-time models are compatible with full-time employment in terms of time.

You can find more details on the websites of the respective study programs.

Is employment required for a part-time study program?

No, employment is not required to study part-time.

What is the difference between a part-time and a dual study program?

In a dual study program, each semester consists of a study phase at the MCI and a practical phase at a partner business, closely linking practice and theory during the course of study. In contrast to part-time models, which do not require students to be employed, a dual study program is accompanied by subject-related employment.
