Prof. Dr. Herbert A. Henzler studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Siegen, at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1970, he received his doctorate (Dr. oec.publ.) from the University of Munich.
In the same year, he began working as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he became a partner in 1975. In 1978 he was elected director and in 1985 head of the German offices. In 1999 he became "European Chairman" of McKinsey & Company before leaving the company in his operational capacity in 2001.
Since 1992 Herbert Henzler has been Honorary Professor for Strategy and Organization Consulting at the University of Munich. From 2004 - 2009, he was Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Board of the Bavarian State Government (WTB). Since 2015, Prof. Henzler has been on the jury for the program to promote incubators, networking activities and start-ups in the field of digitalization.
Herbert Henzler is furthermore active in several supervisory boards such as ottonova AG, xbAV AG, IZA, FC Bayern München AG etc.
From 2002 to 2012, he was Chairman of the Advisory Board of Credit Suisse Germany. In addition, he acted as Senior Advisor of Credit Suisse Group.
Since the end of 2012, he has been a Senior Advisor for the investment bank Moelis & Company.
