The City


Chongqing is a municipality in southwest China being one of the four municipalities under the direct administration of the central government of the People's Republic of China (the other three are Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin). The municipality of Chongqing has roughly the size of Austria. It is situated at the transitional area between the Tibetan Plateau and the plain on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is a major aviation hub and counts among the top 50 busiest airports in the world. Chongqing is a financial, logistic and manufacturing center of West China.

The University


Chongqing University (CQU) is a research university located in southwest China. It counts 7 faculties and its School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) counts among China's top 10 Business Schools. The University holds the presitgious triple accreditaion of AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.
Chongqing University covers a total area of about 178 hectares with 1.60 million square meters of construction space. In 2001, Chongqing University Technology Park came into being, as one of the 22 state-level university technology parks in China.
